Bombella Bass was established in 2008 by Sergio Bombella a professional piano and piano technician, and Guillermo Origel, a professional bass player and luthier, with practical experience about what makes a good bass guitar.
As a bass player, Guillermo was having a trouble trying to get the feel, sound and expression that he wanted out of his bass, he would spend hours upon hours studying and trying to improve and replicate techniques and sound, that were emerging on the music scene by several up and coming bass players, He was growing frustrated and getting nowhere.
One day his father, Sergio told him, “To do something well, you have to have the right tools!” you can keep going that way and eventually you'll get there, but with the right tool you'll get there faster!
In 2002, we sat at his old brown piano and said, why don't you applied the same principals of a piano in a bass? So he explained what where the most important aspects that he look for in a good quality piano:
A good quality piano has the ability to deliver a complete, dynamic range and control with a sensitive touch, and contrasting expression, articulation or inflection to each note."you have a complete expressive control over notes" In essence the playability should be effortless and the sound will come alive, His classic quote was: “You have to caress the instrument”
You'll not getting that out of a mass production instrument! So work on it!
